As I start my 15th year at San Pasqual, I am so excited to be back in middle school teaching 7th and 8th grade humanities. Reading, writing and history are my passions and I can’t wait to explore these subject with my students.
I have been a voracious reader my entire life and I believe that everyone is a reader ~ once they find that one great book that carries them away to a magical place. Writing can show us who we are and what place we hold in this world.
I look forward to meeting and getting to know new students this year. I am happy that many of my former 5th grade students will be joining me as well.
Here’s to a fantastic year at San Pasqual Union School, our 100th year!

My deepest desire is for students to feel safe and loved in my classroom. I want to bring out and polish their creativity and to provide experiences that allow them to shine and feel important. Students are taught to be responsible for their own learning while I provide the academic rigor and inspire creativity.
I will use the language of music to teach, motivate, engage, and enrich the lives of children in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade. I will use music to show historical and cultural connections. I will use music to deepen children’s academic understanding of reading and mathematics. I will teach children to “speak” music through instrument playing and singing/performance. I will teach the children to become lifelong consumers of music so they may lead a richer and more well-rounded life.
