    Program Purpose/Focus-
    S.T.E.A.M. is an initiative championed by the Rhode Island School of Design that has been adopted by education leaders and advocates across the country.
    The S.T.E.A.M. program consists of thematic units and hands-on projects incorporating art and design to explain science and math concepts.

    Middle School STEAM
    All Middle School Students will meet with their S.T.E.A.M. TEAM- Mrs. Buck, Mrs. Thompson, Ms. Mallory, and Ms. Lynch an a weekly basis every Thursday for a S.T.E.A.M. Rotation to work on S.T.E.A.M. Project.  Each grade level will complete a Project Based Learning assignment that focuses on grade level specific science and math standards simultaneously, as well as technology, engineering and art integration!  These projects will be displayed and presented during the S.T.E.A.M. Expo demonstrating each students understanding and hard work throughout the year. 
    Elementary STEAM
    Each grade level will work on  Project Based Learning (PBL) activities focusing on STEAM cross-curricular standards. Students will be working within the classroom with their primary teacher, fellow students and Middle School Support teachers Mrs. Buck and Mrs. Priest. Students will be completing and showcasing their projects at the S.T.E.A.M. Expo. 
    Mission- 
    Students will be completing cross-curricular projects to using art and design to explain new science and math concepts in a more manageable and intuitive way. The creativity required by this integration leads to more work, but is well worth it.
    Vision-
    The S.T.E.A.M. program
     aims to integrate art and design into S.T.E.M. education and influence employers to hire art and design students to increase innovation in the workplace.
