Teaching Mission & Vision

  • I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a safe, loving, nurturing, and stimulating environment in which to grow and develop intellectually, socially, and emotionally.  It is my desire as an educator to provide students with the ability to be the best self they can be and to achieve their fullest potential in each of these areas by offering a learning atmosphere that supports risk-taking, cultivates creativity, invites idea sharing, and celebrates differences.  I believe these four areas are conducive to establishing a cohesive classroom of learners where the teacher is serving as director in their educational journey, the student’s curiosity is directing their natural learning tendencies, and all children are respected and valued.

Teaching affords the opportunity for continual growth and learning.  Even as an educator, I believe, I can still learn from my students.  It is my hope as a teacher that I can instill my love of learning in my students, as they understand that even as we grow and develop, we can all still learn from each other.  In this technological, virtual, competitive world, it is important that children have someone who is invested in their success, someone is compassionate about their problems, and someone who is dedicated to their progress.  I believe I am this person and I will strive every day to be the best educator I am capable of being.
