Language acquisition programs are educational programs designed to ensure English acquisition as rapidly and as effectively as possible, and that provide instruction to students on the state-adopted academic content standards, including the English language development (ELD) standards.
A child’s mental health is essential to their social and cognitive development, and to learning healthy social skills and how to cope when there are problems. SPUSD is committed to promoting the well-being of its students.
The McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act for Homeless Children and Youth entitles all homeless school-aged children to the same free and appropriate public education that is provided to non-homeless students. SPUSD homeless youth liaison is Meghan Travers, Social Worker.
Adequate nutrition is essential to the development, health and well-being, and learning of all students. A free, nutritionally adequate breakfast and lunch is provided each school day to any student who requests a meal regardless of the student’s free or reduced-price meal eligibility.
SPUSD is committed to providing eligible students with disabilities a free and appropriate public education consistent with federal and state laws.
Y Club

Y Club is offered through the San Pasqual Union Expanded Learning Opportunities Program and is free for students who are eligible for free or reduced-price meals, homeless youth and students in foster care. The YMCA will also offer Y Club to all other families based on a sliding scale tuition.
