Nutrition & Food Services

Our school takes pride in our Nutrition Services. We continue to meet all federal nutrition standards in compliance with the N.S.L.P. Program under the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids act.  We ensure that meals are healthy and well-balanced and provide students all the nutrition they need to succeed at school.  Now is a great time to encourage your kids to choose a school lunch!

Our student meals offer non-fat or 1% milk, fresh fruits and vegetables, proteins and grains, and every meal must meet strict limits on saturated fat and portion size.  Our meals also have additional standards requiring:

  • Age-appropriate calorie limits
  • Larger servings of vegetables and fruits (students must select at least ½ cup of the fruits or vegetables, or a combination )
  • A wider variety of vegetables, including dark green and red/orange vegetables and legumes
  • Less sodium

New Snack Guidelines Starting Fall 2025

To support our commitment to student wellness, all snacks brought onto campus for birthdays, class parties, or other celebrations must now meet the USDA Smart Snacks in Schools standards.

These guidelines are designed to promote healthy eating habits by limiting added sugars, saturated fats, and excess sodium—while encouraging nutritious and fun alternatives.

This New Policy Supports:

  • Our district’s wellness goals

  • USDA Smart Snacks in Schools guidelines

  • Research connecting high sugar intake to learning challenges, behavior concerns, and long-term health risks

Why It Matters:

  • Excess sugar can negatively affect focus, mood, and behavior

  • Healthy eating supports better sleep and improved academic performance

  • Establishing healthy habits early creates lifelong benefits

  • Consistency between school and home environments leads to stronger outcomes for students

We’re grateful for the support of our school community in shaping this initiative.

🔗 Download our approved snack list and check out our newsletter below for tips on finding easy, tasty, and compliant snack ideas! If your snack isn't on the approved list, check if it's in compliance using the linked Smart Snack Calculator.

To ensure all food brought to campus complies with our district’s Wellness Policy and USDA Smart Snacks standards, a Food Approval Request Form must be completed and submitted to the office at least one week prior to the event.

✅ Before submitting, please be sure to:

  • Confirm your plans with your child’s teacher

  • Attach any relevant food labels or product information, if available

This process helps us keep all students safe and healthy while celebrating together!
