July 30 Update
July 30, 2020
Dear San Pasqual Families,
I hope this message finds you and your family well and in good spirits. As some of you may have experienced, we exceeded our maximum number of participants for last week’s “Virtual Coffee with the Principal” Zoom session. Although we intended to host another session this week, we have been unable to upgrade our account in a timely manner. As such, our next “Virtual Coffee” session is scheduled for Friday, August 7th, at 9:30 am. Once our account is upgraded, we will share the link to that meeting.
In the meantime, we have a few key developments to share with you. On Tuesday night, the San Pasqual Union School Governing Board approved our Safe Return to School Plan. While we remain closed to on-campus learning per order of the health department, the plan sets forth the procedures and protocols we intend to take once our students and staff are permitted to return to campus.
As you may be aware, there is a waiver process established for elementary school districts to request permission to reopen schools to on-campus learning. The San Pasqual Union School District has expressed interest in applying for the waiver and await further guidance from the health department.
At this time, we have received permission to reopen our preschool under the county’s childcare guidelines, including the “podding” of students in small groups. Unfortunately, we have not received permission to reopen our Kids’ Club program. If/When appropriate licensing waivers are granted, we intend to open our Kids’ Club program for children of employees and other essential workers.
I look forward to reconnecting with you again next week during our “Virtual Coffee” session. In the meantime, if you have any questions or topics you would like me to address, please email me at mark.burroughs@
