Dear San Pasqual Families and Staff,
Despite the turmoil and uncertainty that is currently the world around us, we have some good news to share from San Pasqual Union.
During the 2+ months students have been back on campus learning, we have successfully implemented our “Safe Return to School Plan.” During that time, there have been no known positive COVID-19 cases amongst our students and staff. In our effort to remain transparent, any positive cases would be reported on our SPU COVID-19 Dashboard. As reflected by State and local guidance, even if San Diego County were to fall to a more restrictive purple tier, our school would not be required to close.
Looking forward, on November 30th, we are pleased to report that our TK-5th grade on-campus schedule will be expanded from 4 to 5 days per week. Dismissal times will remain the same for Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, elementary students will be dismissed at 11:05am with distance learners receiving online synchronous instruction from their teacher from 11:30am-12:30pm.
Also on November 30th, we will commence on-campus learning for our middle school students (6th-8th grades) Monday through Friday from 8:30am-1:05pm. Middle school students choosing to remain on distance learning will be contacted by our Distance Learning Specialist who will meet with them daily and guide their progress through the Edgenuity learning platform. New/Returning students and those choosing distance learning are expected to remain as distance learners for the remainder of the school year with requests for changes considered at trimester breaks.
As a result of these transitions, effective November 30th, we will no longer be offering a “homeschool” option for students. Any students previously enrolled in “homeschool” will be transitioned to on-campus or distance learning.
To aid in your planning, here are some calendar items to note:
No School in observance of Veterans Day

On-Campus Learners, Dismissed at 11:05am (All bus riders dismissed at 12:30pm)

Thank you for continuing to partner with us in our efforts to provide a safe and supportive environment for our children to learn. Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
