School Survey & COVID-19 Dashboard
January 9, 2021
Dear San Pasqual Families,
I hope this message finds you well and in good spirits. Despite the turmoil that is currently the world around us, we enjoyed a positive week of learning at SPU to kick off 2021.
As you are likely aware, COVID-19 cases continue to rise at the state, county, and local levels. However, due in large part to your efforts, SPU remains open for on-campus learning with relatively few impacts. As reflected on our updated SPU COVID Dashboard, since the start of the school year, we have had a total of 12 positive COVID-19 cases among SPU students and staff. However, of those cases, only 2 impacted school activities (i.e., required classroom quarantine) and there has been no evidence to date of on-campus transmission of the virus.
In our efforts to remain open for on-campus learning, we continue to ask that you follow local health directives to wear facial coverings when in public, avoid non-essential gatherings, and wash/sanitize hands frequently. Additionally, please continue to keep your child home from school if symptomatic (fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea) and/or diagnosed COVID-19 positive. Additionally, your child should stay home if exposed or possibly exposed to a COVID-19 positive individual.
At this time, we are also soliciting your feedback as to how we are doing and how we can improve. Please take a moment to share your perspectives with us via the CA Healthy Kids Parent Survey. To access the survey, please click here. The survey will remain open until February 4, 2021.
Finally, please consider joining us this Friday, January 15, 2021, at 9:00am, for our next Virtual Coffee with the Principal session. Access information can be found in PeachJar and on our website. If you have any questions you would like addressed, please submit them to me directly at mark.burroughs@
Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership.
